Your investigators are called to a run-down bar in the subterranean South Soffit district. A smuggler from the far-flung Bridleborne Mountains has turned up dead from Bleed contamination, and it is up to you to retrace his steps and learn the secrets of his demise. 

The plot thickens when you follow the smuggler's trail, discovering a hidden portal to the In-Between—a maze suspended in a void of stars, created by ancient wizards. 

Confrontations, alliances, and unexpected consequences unfold, shaping the narrative based on your choices. Immerse yourself in a world where your decisions matter, and the shadows hold secrets that linger long after the game ends.

This is the cold open, one way to introduce your investigators to the mystery!

The bar is lively at this hour of night, a small crowd of regulars gathering at their familiar South Soffit watering hole.

When the door bangs open, conversations trail off to murmurs. A sweating middle-aged man dressed in torn and travel-worn clothing stumbles in, collapsing onto a barstool and setting aside a clinking traveling pack. He is dressed in the style of someone from the Bridleborne Mountains, with cowboy boots and a disheveled straw hat.

His voice is weak as he speaks. “Please, a drink. Something strong.”

The bartender slides him a glass. It passes through his fingers, which glow a ghostly, ethereal blue.

The man curses softly under his breath, before collapsing to the barroom floor.
